Royal British Legion

Gosberton & District Branch of the Royal British Legion

Our branch is apparently one of the oldest, now well over 75 years old. We recently had a sad loss in the passing of our chairman Gene Waterfall, who for 8 years has invested a lot of his effort and love into the Branch. He was a good friend to many and a dedicated Legion supporter. Are there any ex-forces folk out there who might help lead the branch forward, or just give your support by joining the branch?  You don’t even have to be ex-forces to join now, and even young people can join as “junior members.” This year we will be celebrating 100 years since the end of the First World War and we want to do that well here in Gosberton and Clough & Risegate. Please consider joining your local branch and supporting this most worthy cause as the work the Legion does in supporting people in need is exemplary.

Our committee meets once a quarter in The Bell Pub in Gosberton at 7.30pm, please phone 841585 to find out when the next meeting is.

We have a meeting to discuss events and fundraising and any other matters. The meeting is held upstairs in the restaurant at The Bell, so you can buy a drink from the bar and just bring it upstairs with you. We are a friendly lot and throughout the year try to arrange fund raising events for the Royal British Legion.  You can also click on the link below to go to our web page on the Royal British Legion national website:

We have a Facebook page too, please click on this link and give us a like or send a message:

We have an annual Band Concert with Banovallum Brass Band in St Margaret's Hall, Quadring. Tickets are £7 in advance from Debbie on 841585 or on the door. Refreshments are served during the interval and we have a raffle too (donations welcome!). This will probably take place earlier than usual this year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1.

The membership fee to join the Royal British Legion is less than £20 per year. You do not have to come to the monthly meetings if you don't want to; although we would love to meet you! Please phone Debbie on 01775 841585 for further details.
