Messy Church background

Messy Church is a type of Church for children and their parents. There are over 1000 worldwide, including the Falkland Islands and Alaska!

You can visit the national Messy Church website at www.messychurch.org.uk. and also look at our own community website at www.gosberton.org for more information and future dates.

Each month there is a different biblical theme, which are great fun, the children make many things at the themed craft tables to take home. These include pitta bread, sandals, flower arrangements, mobile stars, insects, fluffy sheep fridge magnets and animal masks. There are some really Messy things done with paint and glitter including painting feet and then walking on a roll of paper to make brilliant wall hangings. We have had a paddling pool for the tiny tots and a sand pit too.

After the crafts we hand out birthday cards and sing Happy Birthday to any child who has a birthday in the month. We then get read a story about the theme, we sometimes sing some songs and watch a puppet show, we always say short prayers including the 'Messy Grace' and finally we all sit round and have tea together. This is usually a buffet of assorted sandwiches and cakes, although we do have pizza and hot dogs sometimes.

Please come along to one of our Messy Church events and see what it's all about, you will have a great afternoon!
