An introduction from our Vicar

Our Vicar is Reverend Ian Walters, here is an introduction from him.................

We all know how the world is changing fast and that we live in uncertain and increasingly insecure times. Without a doubt not much of what is happening should surprise us as it is what many had prophesied years ago and the signs have been with us for a long time. There has never been a greater need for the love and teaching of Jesus. The Bible foretold much of today’s problems and gives us the answers, addressing also the pressures in our own lives. “Following Jesus” is what belonging to church is, so how should we be church today in our rural community?

People come first in all we do. We must love and care for all who join us or whose lives touch our own in this community and we must be wise to what is happening and react accordingly. In Jesus we have the greatest teaching the world has ever known, and it leads us out of the darkness of this chaotic world into a place of hope, and where we will meet with God’s power and be able to overcome. When Jesus suffered and died on the cross His death completely destroyed satan’s claim to us and in Jesus Resurrection we are given New Life which is not of this world. In this we overcome.

For more on our Vision and Mission see the separate heading on this section of the website.

And this how I want us to move forward…………………

We will do our utmost every day to care for others through

  • Practical help and encouragement for everyone in every situation.

  • Caring for people spiritually and helping them to come into the light we know as Jesus.

  • Unceasing prayer. Without prayer we can achieve nothing. With prayer there is nothing that cannot be changed.

We will seek to invest in our community in every way through

  • Engaging in community life and encouraging and helping others to do so.

  • Encourage and develop projects that improve the lives of others.

  • Releasing resources that improve lives

  • Identifying those with real needs and finding ways to help.

  • Working for a sustainable future in terms of both people and the environment.

  • Constantly trying to be better disciples ourselves.

  • Taking Jesus’ teaching and love to others.

  • Encouraging others to be disciples too.

  • Making a healthy spiritual life a reality for everyone.
